Otto Frank Facts Born in 1889 to a banking family.
Served as an officer in the German army during WWI. Spent 2 years working in New York. Married Edith Hollander on May, Is the owner of the business and continues to run it, through the helpers, while they are in the annex. Otto organized & prepared the hiding place for his family & invited the others. He is in charge.

Edith Frank’s Facts Born on January 16, 1900.
Youngest of her brothers and sisters. Married to Otto Frank on May 12, 1925. Edith and Anne never got along very well. Anne stated in her diary that her mother didn’t understand her. Edith worries a great deal about everything. She seems incapable of standing up for herself or for Anne.

Margot Frank

Margot Frank Facts Born on February 16, 1926.
Three years older than Anne. Educationally gifted. Margot’s summons to go to a forced labor camp on June 5, 1942, caused the Frank’s to go into hiding early. She wants to be a nurse Is very quiet and polite, is similar to Edith in personality While in hiding Anne stated in her diary that Margot also kept a diary. No traces of her diary have ever been found.

Anne Frank Facts Born on June 12, 1929.
Received a diary for her 13th birthday, which she named “Kitty.” Very energetic and social. Her friends are the most important aspect of her life. She has a hard time not blurting out whatever occurs to her. She drives the others crazy most days. She wants to be a famous dancer or actress, or writer, mostly a writer and most importantly famous. She grows up a great deal while she is in hiding. When Anne and the rest of the members were arrested, she left her diary. Miep found it and kept it without reading it so she could give it to Anne when she came back.

Fritz Pfeffer

Fritz Pfeffer Facts Born on April 30, 1889. He was a dentist.
Had a son, Werner in 1927 and got divorced tfrom his son’s mother in He raised Werner. Met Charlotte Kaletta, but since he was a Jew and she wasn’t it was illegal for them to marry. Pfeffer went into hiding with the Franks and van Pels on November 16, 1942. He feel very alone, as he is separated from his family.

Hermann van Pels Facts Born on March 31, 1890. Had six siblings.
Married Auguste Röttgen on December 5, 1925. Expert with spices. He can detect any spice and is the creative genius behind the spice blends which Otto’s company sells. He has a severe nicotine addiction He tells jokes

Auguste van Pels Facts Born on September 29, 1900.
Anne portrays her as a very vain person. She is very manipulative and is constantly trying to make her husband jealous. She flirts outrageously with Otto Frank who is politely uninterested. She does most of the cooking in the Annex

Peter van Pels

Peter van Pels Facts Born on November 8, 1926. Only child.
His parents are quite dysfunctional and as a result he is insecure. His mother embarrasses him and his Dad belittles him. He and Anne developed a relationship while in hiding that slowly evolved into a romantic relationship. Sources have said that Peter was gifted academically and a master at carpentry.

The Attic The attic was mainly used for storage.
Anne and Peter enjoyed laying down in the attic and looking out of the skylight. The attic was the only place where Anne could catch a glimpse of "a patch of blue sky."

Miep Gies

Miep Gies Miep risked her life to save the people hiding in the annex.
She brought needed supplies to the annex. With the fear of being caught, Miep only brought one grocery bag full of things at a time. Miep had escaped from Austria to Amsterdam as a child. She is married to Jan and devoted to the Frank family. She adored Anne.

CENTER SECTION CONTAINS AN ILLUSTRATION THE SUGGESTS THE WORD THROUGH WHAT IS HAPPENING IN THE ILLUSTRATION OR SYMBOLISM. A MEANINGFUL SENTENCE THAT USES THE WORD IN A WAY THAT COMMUNICATES THE MEANING OF THE WORD. BOTTOM SECTION CONTAINS: THE NEATLY WRITTEN DEFINITION OF THE WORD AS FOUND IN THE GLOSSARY.

SAUNDERS FOR APPROVAL NOT APPROVED – RETURN TO YOUR DESK AND REWRITE YOUR SENTENCE THEN REPEAT STEP 7. APPROVED – RECEIVE THE PAPER FOR YOUR TRI-FOLD FROM MRS SAUNDERS AND CONTINUE ON TO STEP 8 STEP 8: CREATE YOUR TRI-FOLD USING YOUR PENCIL FIRST. STEP 9: GO BACK OVER YOUR WORK IN PEN OR MARKER.
