Presentation: Gender and sexualization:

Purpose and focus WE CAN YOUNG campaign Increasing sexual and relational defensibility of youth : Respecting boundaries of self and others Known forms of sexual behavior Awareness of impact of gender inequality: violence and the different roles of boys and girls in society This presentation is about the last point

What is gender inequality? Gender inequality is composed of two words: gender and inequality. Gender says something about the social roles of a man or woman in society. Social roles that vary by culture, political situation and country. The extent to which those roles varies also differ. Inequality is about the unequal distribution of men and women in the field of power, participation and visibility.

Gender This so-called. "Gender roles of men and women are taught. Also, they are often stereotyped, for example : When a woman stands up for himself is a bitch. If a man wants to work one day less to take care of the children he is under the thumb of his wife. Guys have no boundaries, girls hear their limits indicate. A man must not cry, that's not cool.

Inequality This inequality can be seen coming everywhere, for example Talk shows on TV are usually men at the table at top positions in companies: 6% are women. In politics it is wrong, just look at the 2nd room 37% of women are working less when children come (CBS, 2010) Women earn 20.8% less than men (Wage) Individual choices are also 'directed' by what we find in society 'normal'.

What goes wrong? Men and women are equal, but not the same. But where it goes wrong ? If men or women (or disadvantage) are privileged because they are male or female If anyone has more power or is stronger and takes advantage When there’s violence (physical, sexual or emotional) You know an example?

Sexting Who knows what it is? Sexting is spreading or sharing sexually explicit photos, movies or messages via mobile phones or other mobile media. The term is derived from sex (referring to the sexual content) and texting (SMS / MMS) Sexting is a relatively new concept, often part of sexual development of young people; take pictures of each other and exchange among themselves. This is now seen as healthy sexual behavior. But once the receiver shares shares with others, without consent, we speak of unacceptable behavior.
