READING SKILLS 1. 1.Finding details Writers provide details and example to support their ideas and opinions. E.g.: For the Spanish, life is more important than work. Going home for lunch is more important than staying at work.

READING SKILLS 2. Understanding main ideas A main idea is a message the writer wants to communicate about the topic. Writers don’t always state their main ideas directly. Sometimes, writers imply or suggest their main ideas.
