2 Readers’ workshop allows students to gain the benefits of reading by self-selection, self- pacing, and time spent reading and sharing books. The teacher demonstrates how to explore literature and supports student-led discussion groups. Students gain the knowledge to understand literature on multiple levels and respond to it thoughtfully.
