Centre for Epidemiology and Screening Table 3. Relative risk of sometime use and never use of organised mammography screening in a capital area (Copenhagen municipality, 1991-1999) compared with an urban/rural area (Funen county, 1993-2001), Denmark. Sequentially adjusted. Never use of mammography screening was 3 times more frequent in the capital of Copenhagen than in the urban-rural area of Funen. This difference prevailed even when all demographic and health care use variables were controlled for indicating the existence of a true urbanity factor in screening participation.
7
Centre for Epidemiology and Screening Apart from region the main predictors of never use were not having used dental services and not having been in contact with a primary care physician
8
Centre for Epidemiology and Screening Not being married, not being Danish, and being older also increased the risk of becoming a never user of mammography screening.
9
Centre for Epidemiology and Screening To increase participation, attention should be given to women not using other types of primary health care. The results offer possibilities for targeted information. Whether this is desirable or not depends on local policy.
