BASS2000 : status and perspectives Status Projects New producers New data types New THEMIS request Service to the users Combined requests between archives Nadège Meunier and the BASS2000 team Observatoire Midi-Pyrénées
2
Status Integrated data: THEMIS 1999-2001 : 2063 Go (1635 sequences) NRH 1999-2001 : 192 Go (833 sequences) Requests: mostly PIs and coIs 330 Go in 2001 600 Go in 2000 Consultations of the site : ~ 1080 /month Pedagogic tool: Lessons for primary school to high school FAQ
3
New producers The Pic-du-Midi Coronograph The Coupole-Tourelle at the Pic du Midi MSDP-VTT IRIS data
4
New data types Granulation simulation Movies ( MPEG, …) Processed data ( FITS )
5
Granulation simulation 8 « solar » hours Step = 20 seconds Realization : Rieutord, Ludwig, Roudier, Nordlund & Stein image
6
Movies (MPEG) Pic du Midi Coronograph (realization J.-C. Noëns, T. Roudier)
7
Processed data (FITS) : in project The Pic du Midi instruments THEMIS The MSDP Mode B// and V// maps The MTR Mode Stokes parameters B// and V// maps Vector magnetic field Extrapolation (FROMAGE) Data selection Use of a « standard » code Data availability
8
THEMIS data request Currently: Date, Hour, Wavelength, Instrument, Coordinates, Object 6 criterions used for the request Problem: this is too large ! Example in MTR: Sunspot in Hα: 32 sequences Active region in Hα: 144 sequences Sunspot at 6302 Å: 83 sequences Prominences in Hα: 42 sequences Too many Go for the users !
9
Project for the 2002 campaign if the keywords are validated: Seeing, Simultaneous preslit / field-of-view observation, Stokes sequence Scan parameters Campaign, NOAA number After 2003: Raw / processed (physical parameters) Active mirror 14 criterions used for the request New request form Restricted request necessary
10
Service to the users Diffusion of codes Data processing codes Radiation transfer, Line formation depth ? Organization of workshops about THEMIS data processing: MSDP : February 2002 / Fall-winter 2002 MTR : Fall-winter 2002 Information about the calibrations and observing conditions
11
Relations between databases With BASS2000 – Meudon Solar survey archive / Long term archive Common web page Harmonization for future common requests With MEDOC Future requests MEDOC Tarbes Successful tests have been performed
12
Conclusion Data diversification Producers Added value New services Data processing workshops Diffusion of codes, … Importance of data perennization Observing files headers Observing forms Interesting events and problems Calibrations Web : http://bass2000.bagn.obs-mip.fr
