Vygotsky & Scaffolding Help students develop a plan for dealing with a new task. Give specific guidelines for accomplishing the task. MyFiles worksheet that outlines the steps for downloading and uploading files through the MyFiles System How to PPT file with screen shots of how to use MyFiles Directions for how to upload/download after the MyFiles login screen
7
Vygotsky & Scaffolding Model the correct performance of a task Teachers modeled with projector in the lab how to use the MyFiles System Students were then allowed to login and view the MyFiles System
8
Vygotsky & Scaffolding Divide a complex task into several smaller, simpler activities (See Goal Analysis on http://LTMS500DN.wikispaces.com)http://LTMS500DN.wikispaces.com Keep students motivated to complete the task The Computer Teachers gave extra credit to students who could upload a digital picture of their house or pet from home to the SJY network
