WHERE:Mission Bay, San Diego (along the boardwalk and beach) WHEN: April 19-20, 2013 WHO: 130 Elite triathletes competing within the ITU World Triathlon Series as well as over 2,000 amateur age group athletes competing over Olympic and Sprint distances. 6 MAPS & LOGISTICS PARKING Sunrunner Parking Lot is the designated lot for Athletes and Spectators only. Open Friday 1:30pm-5:30pm (every 15 minutes) to Hyatt Regency Mission Bay (10-12 minute walk to race venue). 6:00pm-7:00pm is shuttles from Bonita Cove Parking Lot back to Sunrunner. Saturday 4:00am-9:30pm to Bonita Cove East Parking Lot (every 15 minutes). Between 2:00pm-6:00pm shuttles available from Hyatt Regency Mission Bay due to race’s road closures. Hospitality Point Parking Lot is for Sponsors, Volunteers, Media and Vendors only. You will need a parking pass to park in this lot.

7 7  IMPORTANT DATES & TIMES  Age Group Olympic Race, Saturday, April 20  4:00am-9:30pm: Sunrunner lot open. Last shuttle departs Race Venue at 6:00pm  4:15am-6:20am: Transition area open pre-race  6:30am-7:20am: Olympic Distance/AquaBike Starts, 1st Swim Wave, Waves every 5 minutes  11:00am: Bike Course Re-Opens to Traffic. All riders will be removed from course at this time.  10:00am: Transition Re-Opens for bike check-out, All bikes must be out by 2:00pm  11:30am: Awards Ceremony  Paratriathlon Race, Saturday, April 20  8:20: Paratriathlon Race Start  Age Group Sprint Race, Saturday, April 20  3:30am-6:00pm: Sunrunner lot open.  6:45am-8:35am: Transition Area open pre-race  8:45am-9:05am: Sprint Starts, 1st Swim Wave, Waves every 5 minutes  11:00am: Bike Course Re-Opens to Traffic. All riders will be removed from course at this time.  12:30pm: Awards Ceremony 7

8 SWIM COURSE  Olympic Distance/Aquabike: 1500 meters, 1 loop  Clock-wise swim.  Water temperature low 60’s. Wetsuits legal and recommended.  Keep 1st YELLOW buoy to LEFT. ALL other YELLOW buoys shall be kept to your RIGHT.  Orange buoys are sighting buoys.  Lane of warm up buoys provided between Swim Start/Exit  Sprint Distance/Paratriathlon: 750 meters, 1 loop  Clock-wise swim.  Water temperature low 60’s. Wetsuits legal and recommended.  Keep both YELLOW buoys to RIGHT.  Orange buoys are sighting buoys.  ALL COURSE MAPS available on website at: sandiego.triathlon.org

9 BIKE COURSE  Olympic Distance/Aquabike: 40kms, 2 laps  Flat and fast course, closed to vehicular traffic  Tight turns, No Passing Zones, Slow Down, 2-way traffic  Gleason/Mission Bay - Olympic 2nd Loop, Bike Start/Finish  Ramp from W Mission Bay onto Ingraham - No Pass/SLOW  Sunset Cliffs Blvd - Narrow bike lane, No Pass/SLOW  Sea World Drive/Sunset Cliffs Blvd - Sharp Turn, No Pass/SLOW  No Aid Stations, Pack your own Water & Gels  Fiesta Island World Record (2 shots!)  Sprint Distance/Paratriathlon: 20kms, 1 lap  Flat and fast course, closed to vehicular traffic  Tight turns, No Passing Zones, Slow Down  Fast riders could catch Olympic racers, RESPECT!  No Aid Stations, Pack your own Water & Gels  Fiesta Island World Record (1 shot!)

10 10 RUN COURSE  Olympic Distance: 10km, 2 laps  Flat and fast course along boardwalk!  Same course and finish line as Elites!  3 Aid Stations per lap, Water, Gatorade, GU  Sprint Distance/Paratriathlon: 5km, 1 lap  Flat and fast course along boardwalk!  Same course and finish line as Elites!  3 Aid Stations per lap, Water, Gatorade, GU  Paratriathlon aid station tables will be set up shortly after age-group aid stations. That is designated for Paratriathletes only!
