My BikeMiles® Screen-by-Screen Process Flow & FAQs
2
INTRODUCTION WHAT IS BikeMiles? BikeMiles® is the UK’s first national rewards network for cyclists, providing your employees access to a range of exclusive offers, promotions and discounts both deeply rooted in the cycling world, and for those times when they are off the bike too. Simply put, BikeMiles® is a currency like air miles, but with bikes. For every mile a participant cycles and logs, they get 1 BikeMile®. The range of offers available each have a different value assigned to them, so a straightforward 10% discount could be equivalent to 100 BikeMiles, whereas an exclusive one-off promotion could be more like 500. Whether employees regularly commute more than 20 miles a day, or only a few miles once a week, there are a host of rewards and offers available ranging from as little as 10 BikeMiles® and upwards. HOW DOES IT WORK? ‘My BikeMiles®’ is currently available to all scheme participants; past, present and future. All scheme participants are given access to their own ‘MyCyclescheme’ account, through which they can access their own ‘My BikeMiles’ account. Participants can log their miles, compete with other cyclists on mileage via a virtual ‘leaderboard’, and collect and redeem BikeMiles® using their account.

Step 1 - signing up for bike miles To sign up to ‘My BikeMiles®’, participants need to access their ‘MyCyclescheme’ account. All employees are provided with a ‘MyCyclescheme’ account when they sign up to request to join the Cycle to Work scheme; employees are able to track the status of their Certificate request via their ‘MyCyclescheme’ account. Participants can log into their account at the following web address; www.cyclescheme.co.uk/login: www.cyclescheme.co.uk/login:

BikeMiles FAQs Is the benefit available to non Cyclescheme participants? Currently, no. Access to ‘My BikeMiles’ requires a MyCyclescheme account and, as it stands, employees are only given a MyCyclescheme account if they have requested to participate in the Cycle to Work scheme. We are currently reviewing the availability of the MyCyclescheme area to non-scheme participants and will send updates if/when the availability criteria changes. Where do participants log in? Participants can log into My BikeMiles via their MyCyclescheme account; the link is www.cyclescheme.co.uk/login or participants can click on 'Sign into MyCyclescheme' on the home page of the Cyclescheme public website.www.cyclescheme.co.uk/login How do Cyclescheme/PleaseCycle verify the miles cycled? The miles are not verified and the recording of mileage is done on a ‘trust’ basis. Accounts with unusually high (and ultimately unrealistic) volumes of mileage are automatically highlighted on the system; persistent misuse of an account may result in account deletion. In addition to this, the PleaseCycle Apps are designed to disqualify any journey that has an average speed of 25mph or over (this potentially prevents people from clocking mileage recorded in a higher speed vehicle). Has the benefit been communicated to Cyclescheme participants? The launch of My BikeMiles was communicated in the August and September Newsletters, with the latter communication containing a launch date of Monday 19th November. There will also be another announcement in the Employee and Employer Newsletter at the end of November. How do employees report a problem? A participant can report a problem directly to PleaseCycle by clicking the ‘Send feedback / Report an issue’ link at the foot of the dashboard page and completing the automated form.
