5 I won’t hold you to spelling errors…in seminar! Standard American English for ALL work so that does mean avoiding chat room lingo. Writing such as “u got 2 b kidding” has it’s place… but that’s not in this course!

10 COURSE MATERIALS: Microsoft Word Not Microsoft Works, Word Perfect or WordPad. It must be Word. That is a Kaplan requirement~

11 SYLLABUS The syllabus is “the bible” of the class. The syllabus covers Kaplan’s policies and expectations. Be sure to read it thoroughly.

12 Syllabus: Discussion Board 1 st Post: Saturday Each Unit Must post on 3 different days Must respond to at least 2 classmates Exchange ideas on topic Get feedback, give quality feedback Use at least one resource once a week Have fun! Quality (40%), Participation Guidelines (30%), Clarity and Organization (20%), Professional & Netiquette (10%)

13 To receive maximum points… 1. Post more than 4 quality posts for the question. Quality posts is: Your answer to the original posting should be in the 100 + word range. Subsequent responses to classmates (at least 3) or myself should be in the 30-50 word range or at the very least a 3- 4 substantial, sensible sentences. This is a discussion so you want to be sure to interact with classmates frequently; not just on one day. That means 4+ good posts per unit on 3 different days.

14 2. Be sure to use spell check. Check for proper spelling, punctuation, and grammar. Good writing skills are becoming more and more important in the business world today. Avoid chat room lingo in discussions and seminar. Show me how you WRITE.
