Jesus accepts to lose everything, even life, for love of us. To take a palm branch is to accept to follow Jesus to acclaim our Lord and like him to pass from death to life.

Tonight we celebrate and welcome the love of Christ, a concrete love which is expressed in service, a complete love, "To the end " ( Jn 13,1 ). By sharing in his Eucharistic presence, we commit ourselves to love one another in the same manner..

If the Church stops today at the foot of the cross of Christ, it is above all to penetrate the mystery and be united to it: yes, suffering can be fruitful.

On the night of Holy Saturday, let us meditate on the origin of this new world born in silence.

On Easter morning, Peter and John do not see the Risen, but the open tomb and folded linens. These are signs of the Absent. Yet it is he who draws the look of their heart towards his presence. Christ is alive. He is risen. The testimony of Mary Magdalene and that of Peter and John are addressed to us today. They can only be accepted in faith.

This week is the week of joy! we celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus. It is a real and profound joy, based on the certainty that henceforth the risen Christ will never die, but that he is alive and he works in the Church and in the world. Pope Francis
