08/02/2014 Statistics Canada Statistique Canada 3 Environmental Statistics Assist NBS in enhancing its environment statistics program, including the creation and development of environmental accounts Suited to China conditions and national priorities Uses internationally recognized and adopted concepts An analysis of data availability has been undertaken to reveal data gaps Priority data gaps being addressed by surveys Specific accounts have been created for mineral resources, energy resources and pollution emissions Initial results being compiled for three provinces

08/02/2014 Statistics Canada Statistique Canada 5 Social Statistics Project: Survey objectives: To develop and carry out an integrated urban and rural household income and expenditure survey Survey processes: o Put together an integrated sampling frame o Address the challenges of effectively surveying the mobile population o Integrate the urban and rural survey questionnaires o Standardize data processing (including editing, checking, supplementing and weighting)

08/02/2014 Statistics Canada Statistique Canada 7 Economic Statistics: Business surveys Overall objective is to develop a General Integrated Framework for Business Surveys, meeting Chinas conditions and be suitable for economy-wide implementation A generic pilot survey was carried out in two regions for three industries: Information transmission, computer services and software Household services Leasing and business services
