Objectives Create a T-Shirt to: Learn elements of character analysis Show deep understanding of at least one of the characters listed below: Winston Julia Mr. Charrington O’Brien Big Brother Syme Emmanuel Goldstein Identify characteristics Create a visual interpretation Wear the shirt the day it is due to advertise the book. Bring a shirt to change into at the end of the day so that I keep the shirt

Things to Consider Make sure your visual is true to the text. Iron-on transfer is a good way to make your shirt. Spelling counts, especially when you’re wearing it!

Acceptable Formats T-shirt Start with a plain, clean shirt Hobby Lobby has cheap single shirts in different colors Design* Iron on transfer Acrylic paint Puffy paint Markers Foam letters *Computer-generated work is highly suggested

(What do other characters think of the one you are analyzing?) 1 quote that indicates direct or indirect characterization (in quotation marks with page number in parentheses) 5. Typed chart of literary terms, definitions, and examples 6. Completed characterization sheet
