Schools are to provide comprehensive PSHE. This includes education on relationships, sex, drugs and alcohol as well as other issues that can affect young peoples lives, such as emotional difficulties and bereavement.

What does an Emotionally Healthy School look like?

Definitions “There is no health without mental health, it is central to the human, social and economic capita of nations and should therefore be considered as an integral and essential part of other public policy areas such as human rights, social care, education and employment” World Health Organisation

Young Minds “Mental health is not merely the absence of any clearly definable mental illness, it is a set of capacities that allows us to make the most of our lives and abilities”

The best way of assessing someone’s psychological well-being is to ask them how they feel (Thompson S CSIP 2006)
