DAY 8

Summary: Narada glorifies Pandavas While glorifying Pandavas Narada drifts into glorifying Krishna. This Krishna is dear friend of Pandavas. Therefore, Pandavas are most fortunate.

Yudhishthira Maharaja reacts by sighing and speaks to Narada: O! Crest jewel of brilliant speakers, Lord has shown no mercy to us. Ordinary materialists will loose faith and inclinations to serve Krishna, when they see our calamities. We are distressed to see this.

Yudhishthira Maharaja reacts by sighing and speaks to Narada: Therefore, on the pretext of arranging sacrifice I begged Him, “Dear master, please show how the fortunes of the devotees and non- devotees differ.”

Yudhishthira Maharaja reacts by sighing and speaks to Narada: Now, our non-devotee enemies are destroyed, our kingdom returned, our grief has been made greater than ever before. It is our fault that many saintly persons met their demise

Yudhishthira Maharaja reacts by sighing and speaks to Narada: We enjoy seeing Krishna’s lotus face only once in a while.

Yudhishthira praises Yadus: Lord Krishna is living with them. He is busy satisfying those dear and fortunate friends. Krishna carried messages, drove chariots etc. for us; but it was only to absolve Himself of His debts, destroy our sins, protect our religious principles.

Bhima speaks to Narada: “We have little faith in the many crafty things Krishna says and does. Doesn’t He have all sorts of motives?

Then Arjuna spoke: O! Godly Narada, the great mercy your beloved Lord supposedly bestowed upon us has in fact become the cause of our sorrow.

Then Arjuna spoke: Concerned only with their own dharma, Bhishma and others attacked Krishna fiercely in war, piercing His armour and flesh. Acts that bring pains to dear ones are not sign of compassion or love.

Then Arjuna spoke: When I refused to kill Bhishma, Drona etc. Krishna taught me something to induce me to kill them. Even carefully studying the purport of those instructions has not made me any happier. No one is dearer to me than Krishna, with His all-enchanting, beautiful form. Therefore, Arjuna is pained that Krishna deceived him to tell him to kill teachers etc.

Nakula and Sahadeva speak out: “Yes, Krishna gave us courage and help. We do not deem this as evidence of His mercy.” “But now, He has cheated us by going away, so how can we continue to live?”

Draupadi said: So many times my intimate friend, ‘Krishna’, saved me from shame and dangers. Krishna personally sat here, at my side, and expertly consoled me with persuasive arguments. It’s my miss-fortune that He no longer comes here.

Queen Kunti spoke with tears in her eyes: I had no husband to protect me, but Krishna always interceded just in time. From this I understood Krishna’s mercy on me was special, even greater than His mercy on mother Devaki.

Queen Kunti spoke with tears in her eyes: Now the thought that Krishna is merciful to me never enters my mind, as everywhere, in our home, neighbourhood and relatives, loud mourning of women whose relatives have been slain is heard.

Queen Kunti spoke with tears in her eyes: When I think of Krishna’s attachment with Yadus, my last thread of hope of receiving His compassion will break.

Queen Kunti suggests Narada to go to Dwaraka immediately

Mother Uttara is doubly happy.

Narada observes Yadus in Dwaraka: Yadus are seated at ease in Sudharma Hall ranked in order of importance. Countless, millions of Yadus waited, absorbed in talks of Krishna. Their mind and eyes focused on the path from Krishna’s inner palace.

Yadus receive Narada.

Narada glorifies Yadus: Your family is most praise worthy, even more than the residents of Vaikuntha. O most fortunate mother earth, by your fruitful endeavors these Yadus have manifested upon your surface-their birth, residence and pleasing arts. The Supreme Lord Hari resides in their homes and enjoys with them unprecedented transcendental pastimes.

Narada glorifies Yadus: Lord Krishna has now forgotten Vaikuntha being bound by unbreakable loving exchanges with these Yadus. Krishna does beautiful pastimes among Yadus that they forget heaven or liberation.

Narada glorifies Yadus: While eating, sleeping, sitting, walking, speaking, bathing, enjoying diversions Yadus are so absorbed in pure love for Krishna that they even forget their own family and possessions.

Narada glorifies Yadus: O Ugrasena, King of exalted kings! Who can describe the extent of your astonishing great fortune? Krishna submits to your authority and stands like a menial servant.

Yadavas reply to Narada Muni: Even Lord Krishna worships you, O Narada. By the power of our Lord, what you have said to us cannot be untrue. Krishna is ocean of all greatness. Simply remembering Him assures all success.
