6. Methodological Issues Indicator refers to women currently married or in union In the MICS questionnaire, women who are currently pregnant are not asked about contraceptive use. It is assumed that they are not using contraception. But they are included in the denominator of the indicator. The MICS questionnaire allows respondents to name more than one method. If a woman says that she and her partner are using more than one method, she is categorized under the first method in the list of categories
