2. starting salary range is $43,964 – $74,891. Usually hired at the GL-7 or GL-9 level Normally they are assigned to a 40 hour workweek (Monday- Friday) Some people work 60 days and then are off for 30 days

4. Must successfully complete a 10 week Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers Basic Criminal Investigator Training. Must also complete a 17 week special agent basic training program at the James J. Rowley Training Center outside Washington, D.C. Failure to pass either training program on the first attempt will result in separation from the United States Secret Service United States Secret Service Training!

5. Have either a four-year college degree or a combination of education and criminal investigative experience

6. The Protective Mission- Protect the President, the Vice President, former presidents, visiting heads of states, and major presidential and vice presidential candidates, Congressmen and Foreign Dignitaries.

7. The Investigative Mission- Entails the Enforcement and investigation of varies crimes but not limited to counterfeiting, financial institution fraud, computer and telecommunications fraud and money laundering violations
