3. Introduction In this report we will discuss the difference types of energy sources. More specifically fossil fuels winds and hydro power. We will talk about the disadvantages and advantages. And you can find out more information about each of the energy sources.

4. HYDRO We have used running water in energy source for thousands of years. It works by building it to trap water, unusually in a valley where there is an existing lake. Water is allowed to flow through tunnels in the dam. Hydro electric dams are very expensive to build. Advantages- once the dam is build the energy is is virtually free.No waste or pollution produced. Much more reliable than solar or wave power.  HYDRO

5. Hydro continued Hydro electric power stations can increase to full power very quickly. Electricity can be generated constantly. One disadvantage is that they are very expensive to build.

6. Fossil Fuels Coal, Oil and Gas are called "fossil fuels" because they have been formed from the fossilized remains of prehistoric plants and animals. They provide around 66% of world electrical power. It also provides 95% of the worlds toatal energy demands. Fossil fuels work by burnig gas and oils directly. To use coal as energy you have to crush the coal into a fine dust and then you burn it. Then you use the gas, oil, or coal to heat water to make steam. The steam turns turbines and the turbines turn the generators and the generators provide electricity.

7. Fossil Fuels Continued A lot of energy can be generated fairly cheaply Transporting oil and gas is easy The main problem with fossil fuels is they make pollution Mining is difficult and dangerous

8. Wind History Wind power was one of the first energy sources. They first people to use the wind as a power source were the Babylonians and Chinese. It was first used to power sail boats. Then it was later used to pump water for irrigation and grinding corn and other grains. Boats were very important a couple of centuries ago. The people back then greatly depended on their boats for trade and it helped the economy. Without the wind powered boats the Americas would never have been found.

9. Wind Continued Wind is made when hot patches of air rises and new air blows in to replace it. Now wind is mainly used to produce energy. There are big wind farms that produce the electricity. The farm is made of towers with a propeller attached to the tower and when the the wind blows and moves the propeller the propeller turns a generator and makes electricity. There are many adavantages to making electricity by using the wind. First of all, wind is free. Also wind produces no waste. The land underneath the wind farm can be used for farming later. In addition, wind farms can attract tourists. Wind power is a good method of supplying energy to remote areas. However, there are disadvantages to wind farms because wind is unpredictable. Most of the areas where you would build a wind farm are near the coast and that land is expensive. Some people think that the towers are ugly.

11. Conclusion In conclusion, it seems that we will have to find an energy source to replace fossil fuels. Fossil fuels are not renewable, and eventually there will be no more fossil fuels. We will have to use one of the other sources of energy.
