The Force of Emerging Economic Powers (China) When Mao had ruled, there were very little economic freedoms, so China was not a well known global trade partner After Mao died, China started to make economic reforms such as foreign trade and investment China, although a communist state, has many democratic economic polities Both of these together helped China to become economically successful

Supporting Ideas China has become a popular global trade partner since the late 1970s China is extremely productive due to population and capital China’s economy has brought urbanization, industrialization, and globalization

Facts China has the second largest economy in the world To improve trade, China opened Special Economic Zones (SEZs) along coasts SEZs are similar to market like economies China’s government encourages urban growth due to its large rural population Machinery, technology, and infrastructure help raise China’s income and productivity China has access to a large amount of natural resources
