The National Council conducted it yearly mid year meeting in which it discussed the National Convention, along with finalizing the processes of making Honor Stoles available for sale through the web site for a cost of $20. Sam Houston State University continues to stay busy with many service projects and activities and is setting a great example in their efforts. Some of their activities to mention have been an Adopt a Family event, putting blankets together for the Ronald McDonald house, as well as many other. Great Job, SHSU!!!!

The Sleep Inn features free wi-fi and a free deluxe continental breakfast every morning. It's conveniently located near I-24, a Wal-Mart, both major shopping malls in town, tons of restaurants (which you really won't need), and is an easy drive to/from campus. 30 double rooms, 4 queen rooms and 6 king rooms have been blocked for our use. The room rate is $67.99, and everyone should ask for the "DTA Block“ when making their reservation. The rooms are scheduled for 3-7 March, so be sure to modify the dates if need be. Reservations must be made by Feb 18, 2010 to secure the group rate. There are lots of other hotels/motels in the immediate vicinity but there are several other LARGE events going on in Murfreesboro immediately before, during and after our convention, so rooms are scarce and extremely valuable. I can't overemphasize the need to reserve rooms ASAP.
