Lack of awareness of current activities related to travel time reliability and transportation systems management and operations (TSM&O) Strong desire to draw on practitioner knowledge through best practices and peer exchanges Resources are spread across multiple agencies and organizations □ NTOC, Operations Academy, FHWA, AASHTO, etc.

4 U.S. Department of Transportation Enhanced KTS Website Expands Technology Transfer function: □ Establishes a forum to share experiences, best practices and lessons learned (peer exchange) □ Broadens focus of database to TSM&O resources □ Continues assessment and update of knowledge gaps □ Enhanced marketing and outreach materials Additional features: □ Subscription-based email newsletter, project profiles, current practices interchange and archive Staff and/or consultant support needed for updates, content development, management of peer interactions including social networks

5 U.S. Department of Transportation Operations Center of Excellence Additional functionalities with staff and management: □ Develop continued knowledge syntheses □ Fill gaps via tacit knowledge capture □ Identify best practice, guidance □ Conduct live/face to face activities (symposia, workshops) □ Facilitate peer-to-peer support (focus groups, etc) □ Support PPP activities □ Coordinate among interest groups/activities – neutral role
