Lobos Isle Natural Park Melania Brito Clavijo Karen Escobar Foronda

Geographical situation Lobos’island is a Canarian natural park situated in Bocaina’s Canal, two miles from Fuerteventura. It is adjacent near Corralejo’s dunes, another protected natural park, and it belongs to La Oliva municipallity. It’s a little island which divides the north of Fuerteventura from Lanzarote.
3
Why is this area protected? This natural park is protected because of the different number of species which live there. Some of them are the seagull (gaviota), the bustard (avutarda), the shearwater (pardela), etc. The ocean floor is also very important and considered as a submarine reserve. The island receives this name because seals lived here in the past.
4
The weather The landscape is dry, arid and with moderate temperatures, it’s perfect for going a dip. It also has a beautiful beach, La Concha’s beach, where you can clearly see a wonder- ful ocean landscape. The weather is sunny and it has around eighteen degrees.
5
Tourism and other activities It doesn’t have many services and it isn’t very large but you can have so much fun. You can go camping, trekking to the crater ( the highest mountain of the island, 127 meters), visit the lighthouse or just go fishing and sunbathing on the fine sand of the beach. It’s great for having a good weekend with the family and doing something different, funny and relaxing.
