Sport is one of key elements of many people’s life. Every day a few hundred million people in the world practice sport. Practicing sport carries a lot of benefits. Some of them are: o improving and rising the efficency of our body o making a man more noble. Through sport based on universal values it is possible to create proper behaviours and attitudes in the society.

Sport is based on universal values. The most important of them are: Honesty Cooperation Perseverance Patience Tolerance Our activities in other areas of living should be based on the same values.

Honesty is the core value on which the sports competition should be based. Strictly related to the honesty is the idea of fair play. It is the idea of honesty, kindness and sacrifice in sport. From sport, honesty has moved to other areas of life, eg. to business or politics.

In team sports the cooperation is more important than the skils of individual athletes. It determines whether the team will reach good results or loose the match. Even great personalities are not able to achieve success alone – behind them are other figures, such as their trainers and the rest of the staff.

Perseverance is the key in sport. Without the perseverance and determination any athlete would not be able to win. The perseverance is the key to success. Overcoming own weaknesses and dealing with difficulties is also important in everyday life.

Success in sport is preceded by a long preparation, workouts and sacrifices. Athletes are sometimes waiting on their personal or team success for ages. For the results of our taken actions in other areas of life we also have to wait. Patience is very desirable attribute.

Sport brings people together and teaches tolerance. Sport’s teams are composed of people who represent different nationalities and different skin colors. Sport is practiced also by the disabled people, who worthly represent their country at the Para - Olympic Games.

Do your best: Despite all obstacles be strong and do not stop doing even better… „Practice makes perfect”
