FEDERATIONS ( School Sports) 09/10 CUSTODIANS OF THE TECHNICAL ASPECTS OF THEIR SPORT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE NORMS AND STANDARDS OF THE CODE PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY IS THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE CODE DEVELOPMENT INCLUDES CAPACITY BUILDING, TRAINING AND PARTICIPATION ESTABLISH STRUCTURES FOR DELIVERY AT ALL LEVELS GOOD CORPORATE GOVERNANCE - ACCOUNTABILITY

New Approach (School Sport) 09/10 INTEGRATED APPROACH FROM WITHIN SRSA TRANSFORMATION AGENDA INTEGRAL TO DELIVERY ALIGN DELIVERY AND STRUCTURE FROM LOCAL TO NATIONAL LEVEL DELIVER ON SRSA PRIORITY CODES CODE STRATEGY TO BE ALIGNED WITH SRSA STRATEGY SET CLEAR TARGETS ANNUALLY PERFORMANCE FOCUS – NOT JUST RESULTS AND NUMBERS BUT GOVERNANCE AS WELL INCREASE M&E BY SRSA IMPACT ASSESSMENT

Strategic Imperative: School Sport Current school regulations create barriers to entry – Must be changed through SRSA School/Juniors core building block for federations- Transformation and Talent ID Provincial/Local structures key for “Junior” clubs Specialised sport schools not the answer -Uprooting of learners from environment -Morally problematic to triage “non performers”

Strategic Imperative: Scientific Support Team (SST) Determine Provincial needs Appoint cross sport disciplines regional teams NF to establish KPIs and Rosters with SST Role of Research at Universities to be coordinated

Strategic Imperative: Facilities Communal facilities to ensure mass participation Multi use Indoor facilities with dedicated coaching staff Local and Provincial facilities plan National facility – Olympic standard – for each Olympic code
