5 eText Architecture: Clients  Mac/Windows Viewer - A Mac or Windows browser-based application that students & instructors use to access their subscribed titles. Pages are SWFs. Title subscription must be done outside of the app. Can’t work on the iPad because its Safari browser does not support Flash.  CD App - A desktop application for Mac or Windows machines that has much of the same functionality as the browser version. Does not support personalizations (highlights, notes, bookmarks) nor Search. Can’t be downloaded since due to size. Does not support DRM.  iPad App - An app specifically designed for the iPad and available for free download from the Apple iTunes store. Pages are optimized PDFs. Displays bookshelf of subscribed titles. Title subscription must be done outside of the app. SMS (HiEd) authentication available now. RUMBA authentication (School) in August 2011 and eCollege ML+ in Sept 2011.  Android Apps - Q4 2011 Students can interoperate between the iPad app and Mac/Windows viewer
