Project Idea The Magic Wand would be a device that utilizes accelerometers to detect characters based off of gestures made by an individual on a writing pad. The Magic Wand would communicate wirelessly with a base station that then outputs the detected characters to an LCD display. A pressure sensor would be used in the pen to detect when writing is taking place.

Constraints for pen Small enough to fit in a pen Low enough power consumption to run off a battery Proper peripherals to interface with wireless transceiver (SPI in master mode) and accelerometers (2 channels of Input Capture)
