2 I’m here today to explain about Energy, and my presentation is divided into three main points: Firstly: what is the Energy ? Secondly: what is the Energy resources ? Finally: what is the Advantages and Disadvantages ?
4
3 Modern civilization has been built on humanity's increasingly effective harnessing of sources of energy to do work, from simple machines, steam, coal, oil, and beyond. Understanding the role of energy and human energy use is critical to an analysis of environmental issues. A number of environmental problems are attributed to our use of fossil fuels. What is the Energy ?

4 What is the Energy Resources ? Fossil fuels Nuclear Solar Wind Hydro Tidal Pumped Storage Waves

5 Coal, oil and gas are called "fossil fuels" because they have been formed from the organic remains of prehistoric plants and animals. 1. Fossil fuels Coal provides around 28% of our energy, oil provides 40%, and Natural gas provides around 20% of the world's consumption of energy.
7
Nuclear Nuclear power is generated using Uranium, which is a metal mined in various parts of the world Nuclear power produces around 11% of the world's energy needs, and produces huge amounts of energy from small amounts of fuel, without the pollution that you'd get from burning fossil fuels 6

7 2. Solar We've used the Sun for drying clothes and food for thousands of years, but only recently have we been able to use it for generating power 1. Solar Cells 2. Solar water heating 3. Solar Furnaces

3. Wind We've used the wind as an energy source for a long time. The Chinese were using wind power to pump water for irrigating crops4,000 years ago, We can use the energy in the wind by building a tall tower, with a large propeller on the top 4. Wave Power Ocean waves are caused by the wind as it blows across the sea. Waves are a powerful source of energy The problem is that it's not easy to harness this energy and convert it into electricity in large amounts. Thus, wave power stations are rare. 8
10
Finally, what is the Advantages ? The energy is free Handy for low- power uses Produces no waste or greenhouse gases Disadvantages Doesn't work at night. Very expensive to build solar power stations. The wind is not always predictable Can be noisy 9
