Definitions - Variables
Employment The number of persons of working age who, during a specified brief period, either one week or one day, were in either paid employment or self-employment. Employment change per annum The number of persons of working age who, during a specified brief period, either one week or one day, were in either paid employment or self-employment, expressed as percentage change. Labour Productivity growth rate The output (measured as value added in 2005 PPP dollars) divided by the total number of employed persons, express as the average annual rate of change. Employment to Population he proportion of the working-age population that is employed. For most countries, the working-age population is defined as persons aged 15 and above, although that may vary slightly from country to country. Average Annual GDP (2005 US dollars) growth rate Average annual growth rates are calculated as percentage change per annum of GDP at constant 2005 United States dollars. Gross domestic product is the total market value of all final goods and services produced within the national borders in a given period of time.
