2 Dynatest LWD Program - Set up Bluetooth
Tap the Microsoft “flag” in the top left hand corner, select settings from the drop down menu, selection connections from the bottom tab Ensure the Bluetooth is turned on, on the PDA “tap” “Bluetooth Manger” hyperlink on PDA screen Ensure Bluetooth is turned on, on the LWD “tap” New (at the bottom) The PDA will discover the Bluetooth devices in the near vicinity Select the LWD and press Next-> in the bottom Right Hand corner Instruction for HP Windows Mobile only

3 Dynatest LWD Program - Set up Bluetooth
Select the “Explore a Bluetooth device” You will be requested to input the pin code for the Bluetooth. This is the last 4 digits of the LWD Bluetooth serial number The PDA will automatically look for possible “Service Selection” Select the “Wireless module” Tap “Next” Tap “Finish” The Comm Port is allotted by HP, this can be checked by tapping the Service Tab and tapping Advance box. The Comm Port is usually set at Comm 6 or Comm 8 Click HERE to go to “using LWD Field Program” Instruction for HP Windows Mobile only

Ensure that the Comm Port is set as the same for the Bluetooth Port (in this case Comm 5 Units (Metric or Imperical) only affects how the data is viewed and not how the data is stored. The unit displayed can be changed at any time Checking – Connect at program startup automatically connects the PDA to the LWD as the program starts Instruction for any Windows Mobile incl. HP

The sample time is normally set at 60ms, but can be set at any value Pretrig time, Pulsebase and Trig level - should be kept at values shown. Instruction for any Windows Mobile incl. HP

Radial offset - is the radius distance of the geophone to the centre of the plate. D1 would normally always be set at 0. Geophone D2 & D3 should be set at the distances taken from the sensor beam – usually 300 and 600mm Load plate diameter - Can be changed here or on the main data collection screen If the operator forgets to change the plate diameter, the data can also be edited in the LWDmod program No of deflection sensors – set at number of geophones connected to LWD 1-3 Instruction for any Windows Mobile incl. 19 Dynatest LWD Program – Formula Tab
We recommend that the values are kept at the values stated, unless the values need to be changed to meet a specific standard for the calculation of the surface modulus. This calculation can be re-done using different values with LWDmod Instruction for any Windows Mobile incl. HP

20 Dynatest LWD Program – Connect the PDA and LWD
Ensure the wireless on the LWD is activated by pressing the switch on the LWD module down – the LED light on the top of the module will light up when activated The PDA can be connected either by the lower menu Tools-> Connect to LWD OR by pressing and holding on the graph until the Connect to LWD box appears There will be an audible beep and the light on the module will flash Instruction for any Windows Mobile incl. 21 Dynatest LWD Program – Connect the PDA and LWD
If the PDA does not connect the following error will appear Check Comm setting on PDA are the same as those in LWD program Check batteries are charged Instruction for any Windows Mobile incl. HP

22 Dynatest LWD Program – Create New File
In the main screen select: File-> New Input File Name Select the location it is recommended that this is on storage card, as this will allow for the data to be transferred to the computer more easily and should the PDA fail or freeze and you have to reboot, you will not lose any data Instruction for any Windows Mobile incl. Select folder to place the data If you want to place into a new folder, you will need to create a new folder with the Windows Mobile “file explorer” on the PDA Dynatest drop files is the only option Instruction for any Windows Mobile incl. HP

If the GPS is NOT running, Tap GPS on the bottom menu GPS Format can be selected, Tap Format, select units Select Read GPS The GPS will take a little time to locate the exact location Instruction for any Windows Mobile incl. HP

From the bottom Menu, select File -> Open Select the Folder, where the data has been stored Select the file to Open Confirm or modify the Location information Confirm or modify the Temperature information Confirm or modify the GPS information (if available) Instruction for any Windows Mobile incl.
