4 Standard 8.12.1: Trace patterns of agricultural and industrial development as they relate to climate, use of natural recourses, markets, and trade and locate some development on a map. Standard 8.12.3: Explain how states and the federal government encouraged business expansion through tariffs, banking, land grants, and subsidies. Standard 8.12.9: Name the significant inventors and their inventions and identify how they improved the quality of life (Edison, Bell, Wright).

7 MI CONNECTION  Fold a piece of white paper into four sections.  Label the boxes with…  Thomas Edison  Alexander Graham Bell  Henry Ford  Wilbur & Orville Wright  Write the invention and date on the bottom of the box.  Draw a picture of the invention in the middle of the box.
