3  Common Interests  Break into groups of three  Talk for 10-15 minutes  Find out fives things you have in common with each member of your group  Avoid the obvious – “ Both have blue eyes or brown hair”  Share your similar interest with the group

4  We are the governing body for interscholastic athletics in the state of Florida. We are a not-for-profit corporation that, while not appointed by the Florida Legislature, cooperates with the Legislature and the Florida Department of Education in governing interscholastic athletics.

5 FHSAA Bylaw 1.2  Purpose  Provides leadership for the development, supervision and promotion of interscholastic athletic programs sponsored by its member schools.  Participation in these programs enriches the educational experience of qualified student- athletes by providing them with opportunities to compete in an equitable, sportsmanlike and wholesome manner. FHSAA Bylaw 1.5  Fundamental Belief  Interscholastic athletic programs play a vital role in the education of students who participate in them.  Through their participation in interscholastic athletics, students are provided character-building opportunities to demonstrate  Honesty  Integrity  Respect  Caring  Cooperation  Trustworthiness  Leadership  Tolerance  Personal responsibility

13  Videos must be between 90 seconds and 3 minutes  Must also include at least 30 seconds of discussion about why school should be winner  Cheers must be positive  Sportsmanship is the overall goal for this program  Submission DVD’s are sent to FHSAA by established deadline and YouTube playlist is created with all of the submissions  Videos that meet the requirements will be uploaded to FHSAA social media.  Fans will be encouraged to watch all videos and vote on favorites on FHSAA Facebook page using the poll feature Overview

14 Choosing a Winner  Fans will be encouraged to watch all videos and vote on favorites on FHSAA Facebook page using the poll feature  Fan votes will be divided by school population to keep competition fair amongst large schools and small schools  SAAC makes final decision on winner which will be determined based on the following criteria:  Positive sportsmanship  Student body participation  School spirit  Originality of cheers  Organization of the group  Overall fun  Social media votes

15 Timeline  October  October 10 th : Introduce Program to FHSAA Member Schools through email blast and social media  Explain rules, criteria for videos, submission requirements  Member schools will be able to film student cheering section during the Fall & Winter Sports Season  November  Reminders sent to FHSAA Member Schools through email blast and social media  Explain rules, criteria for videos, submission requirements  December  Reminders sent to FHSAA Member Schools through email blast and social media  Explain rules, criteria for videos, submission requirements  January  Reminders sent to FHSAA Member Schools through email blast and social media  Explain rules, criteria for videos, submission requirements  February  February 1 st : Deadline for member schools to submit videos (DVD copy)  February 6 th : Videos that meet the criteria will be uploaded to FHSAA YouTube using the playlist feature. FHSAA YouTube Playlist will be placed FHSAA website and social media and promoted through FHSAA website headlines and social media. Fans will be encouraged to watch all videos and vote on favorites on FHSAA Facebook using the poll feature.  March  March 6 th : Fan voting ends. Poll will be taken off the FHSAA Facebook Account at 5 pm.  March 7 th : Second SAAC Meeting of the Year  SAAC will watch videos from all member schools that have submitted, critique using established guidelines and determine winner.
