Fielding Graduate University Library There are a variety of sources that can be used to search for research instruments: books, databases, Internet search engines, Web sites, journal articles, and dissertations. Some have descriptions only; others have the full instrument. Searching for an instrument may take a lot of time. Many tests are available in articles or databases. Others may be posted on the Internet and freely available. Many test are only available for sale by a commercial publisher. Others may only be available by contacting the person who developed it.

Fielding Graduate University Library Database name: Mental Measurements Yearbook & Tests in Print The instrument itself is not included in the Mental Measurements Yearbook database, but details and lengthy critical reviews are included. Actual tests are only available commercially. Search for information about a test or survey instrument by name, author, subject, etc. Limit search by test category, whether group or individual, publication date, purpose, population and more.

Fielding Graduate University Library Database name: Mental Measurements Yearbook & Tests in Print A comprehensive bibliography of all known commercially available tests in English. A score index shows what is being measured. Links to reviews in Mental Measurement Yearbook.

Fielding Graduate University Library HAPI Health and Psychosocial Instruments This database features journal articles that discuss unpublished tests, rating scales, checklists and other research instruments used by professionals. Some articles include the actual instrument. To find them, limit your search by checking the "Primary Source " box.

Fielding Graduate University Library PsycTESTS Full Text Provides access to psychological tests, measures, scales, surveys, and other assessments. Most are full-text. All tests include a summary or link to summaries in the journal literature. Example: Internet social networking (keywords) AND ( in ANY field) survey

ICPSR stores, curates, and provides access to social science data so others can reuse the data and validate research findings Test or scales used are often indicated

Fielding Graduate University Library Try searching for a test title in a search engine like Fielding FASTsearch, Google Scholar, Ask.com, or subject specific search engines to find articles that use a specific test

Try searching by title or subject for a journal article with a test included or appended to the article. For example, search for depression AND appended AND survey
