3 Types of Interview Statements Closed-ended questions are the best interviewing technique. In polls and surveys, multiple choice questions are the best style of question to use. Reporters should do library and Internet research after their interviews. Background research helps the reporter ask better questions. Reporters who listen well don’t need interview notes.
