3. Past Of :Lincoln University  Lincoln University is a public university located in Jefferson City, the capital of Missouri. In 1854 Rev. John Miller Dickey, a Presbyterian minister, and his wife, Sarah Emlen Cresson, a Quaker, founded Ashmun Institute, later named Lincoln University. They named it after Jehudi Ashmun, a religious leader and social reformer. They founded the school for the education of African Americans, who had few opportunities for higher education.

4. News Flash: Present  The school is much now to get into my college you must have $22,074 to get in if you are in-state. It cost $26,680 if you are out of state.

5. Alumni’s of my school  Mr. Tracey J. Hunter is one of my schools alumni’s. Hunter Hayes was named director of the Langston Hughes Memorial Library as well as an associate professor at Lincoln University in October. He graduated from Lincoln University with a bachelor’s degree in philosophy in 1987 and earned a master’s in library science from the University of Pittsburgh in 1989.  He also has a master’s of divinity degree in theology and ethics from the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University.

6. President And Board Lincoln President Ivory V. Nelson, Ph.D. (left) and Board of Trustees Chair Frank C. Gihan ’72 (right) present the University’s Community Service Award to Kenneth (Kenny) Gamble. Gamble currently serves as CEO and chairman of the board of Philadelphia International Records and is credited for being the musical pioneer in the development of soul/rhythm and blues music in America.

8. Academics of My College  U.S. News and World Report, Lincoln University ranks number 27th out of 81 in the 2009 magazine’s first ranking of undergraduate education at HBCUs. It is ranked as a Tier One school on the list. Lincoln University shares its #27 ranking with Oakwood University and the University of Maryland Eastern Shore
