Keep a calendar with all your senior year deadlines, ID#’s and passwords. Refer to your senior year calendar weekly. Set goals for yourself to meet your deadlines. (Applications, activity list, recommendations, etc.) Choose a night and time to work on applications and to complete research.
19
Use your unofficial transcript to help complete your applications. Try to work on applications before 10 o’clock at night. Send completed applications even if you plan on retaking the ACT. Give parents a carrot! (Show some evidence that you are working on your future and they will leave you alone!) Be aware of time zones!
20
Ask your guidance counselor/registrar for transcripts to be sent one week before you would want them sent. Demanding won’t get you any where! Ask teachers for recommendations, sooner rather than later. Complete Student Information Sheet for teacher and counselor recommendations. Send at least one application by the end of September. Send the rest of your applications by the end of October. Maintain or increase your GPA.
