3 A Little About Me: Degree in Elementary Education from Emporia State University Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Kansas State University Starting 10 year of teaching, but 1 st year at Logan and 1 st year in 6 th Married with 2 kids, ages 5 and 1

5 Academics Reading: We will be using the McGraw-Hill Wonders Reading Series. Book Orders: We will send in Scholastic book orders throughout the year. If you choose to purchase, please make the check out to: Scholastic Book Club or order online What you can do: Have your child read for at least 20 minutes every night.

6 Academics Math: We will be using the Everyday Mathematics 4 this year in sixth grade. What you can do: Help your student practice and memorize math facts. Have your student play math games online.

7 Academics Science: We are using Discovery Science, an online program for science. Social Studies: The social studies curriculum is focused on ancient civilizations. What you can do: Have your child show you online what we have been working on in science.

8 Class Information Missing Work: If your child has missing work, it is parent and student responsibility to check PowerSchool for frequent updates on grades and assignments. Grades: You’re able to check your child’s grades on-line by accessing PowerSchool. If you need log-in information, please contact the office. Planners: Students are given time every day to write in their daily assignments. Please ask to see your child’s planner and sign it. Take Home Folders: All notes should be in Yellow take home folders throughout the week.
