Ozymandias A poem by Shelly
4
I once met a traveler from a unique land,
6
Who said : “Two vast trunkless legs of stone stand in the desert.
7
Near them, on the sand, half sunk, a shattered visage lies,
8
Whose frown, and wrinkled lip, and sneer cold of command, tell its sculptor well those passions read, which yet survive,
10
Stamped on these lifeless things,
11
The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed,
12
And on tis pedestal these words appear,
14
Nothing beside remains, round the decay,
17
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare,
18
The lone and level sands stretch far away.”
