10 Universal Screeners/Assessments Universal Screening and Progress Monitoring The purpose of the screening is to identify students who are at risk for experiencing academic difficulties or who are in need of intervention. Students will be assessed regularly throughout the year but only three assessments (October, January, April) will be utilized to determine tiered intervention/Progress Monitoring. Results from the screenings and assessments will provide the following important information: Identify students who demonstrating appropriate, on-grade level progress. (No interventions required) Identify students who need Intervention in Tier 1, 2, and 3. The tables below reflect the screening/assessment instrument used to determine tiered intervention. Grade levels utilizing iStation for Reading will screen every student on a monthly basis. Grade levels utilizing Scholastic Reading Inventory (SRI) for Reading will screen some students as requested by the teacher referral. If Tier 2 or Tier 3 Intervention is determined the STAT process will be followed. Grade levels utilizing RenStar for Math will screen every student quarterly. Please note: STAT Reviews may be requested for special considerations not identified through a universal screener.
