2 STEP 1 Push release button and slide the case up.

3 STEP 2 Push on the black notches and pull up on fan. Cooling Fan- Provides air circulation and prevents computer from overheating.

4 STEP 3 Pull the green lever and remove the Heat Sink.

5 STEP 4 Release DIMM latches and pull it out. DIMM-Dual In- Line Memory Module; Random Access Memory.

6 STEP 5 Remove Hard Drive, CD Drive and Floppy Drive by squeezing the green handles and pulling up. Hard Drive-Stores digital data. Floppy Drive-Reads and writes to a Floppy Disk CD Drive- Reads and Writes to a CD.

7 STEP 6 Pull the CPU release lever and pull out the CPU. CPU-Carries out instructions of a computer program.

8 STEP 7 Pull out the SCSI (Skuzzy) Cables. SCSI Cable-Transfers data.

10 USB Port & PS/2 Port USB Port-Establishes communication with USB devices Mouse & Keyboard Port- Connects mouse & Keyboard to computer

11 Power Socket & Power System Power Socket-Adapter for AC Power Chord. Power System-Supplies power to a computer.

12 Backup Battery & Chipsets Backup Battery-Secondary power supply incase the primary one fails. Chipsets-Parts of a motherboard that allow the CPU to interface with various components & expansion cards.

13 PCI Socket & CPU Socket PCI Socket-Used to attach hardware devices and expansion slots to computer. CPU Socket-Houses microprocessor & holds CPU

14 DIMM Socket & Onboard Controllers DIMM Socket-Used to attach DIMM to computer. Onboard Controllers-Hold & read data from SCSI Cables.

15 Audio Port & Capacitors Audio Port-Connects audio device to computer. Capacitor-Stores up an electrical charge.

16 LAN/Ethernet Port & Processor Ethernet Port-Receives data from Ethernet Cable. Processor-Processes & outputs data.

17 Transistors & Resistors Transistor-Amplifies & switches electronic signals. Resistor-Controls flow of electricity.
