Configuring your mail agent Usually you need to provide your mail agent with some information, such as the name of your mail delivery agent, your user name and password, etc. Most Student accounts are filled out To see your settings Tools -> Email Accounts-> view or change existing accounts

Check Settings on your mail agent Tools -> Email Accounts-> view or change existing accounts AMERICA is my mail server Baer,Wolfgang is my mailbox

Backup and Private Mail Data Flow 1) Backup data to your machine 2)Add Personal Folder *.PST files User PC running Outlook mail user agent Running Outlook express running Mail delivery agent POP or IMAP outlook express Personal folders.pst Backup *.pst

Backup data to your machine File -> Import Export-> export to a file-> personal folder File (PST) Select folder to export –Entire mailbox or part Browse to backup filename in a permanent disk location controlled by you (H drive)

Add your “Backup” file as a personal folder On the File menu, point to New, and then click Outlook Data File Select outlook 2003 or 97 to 2002 compatible file Browse to your “backup” file Give it the name “backup” 1 2 3 4 Show in folders list

Add personal folder *.PST files On the File menu, point to New, and then click Outlook Data File Select outlook 2003 or 97 to 2002 compatible file Name and locate file in a directory controlled by you

Data move and delivery Move with mouse Write a Organize Filter Auto deliver new mail to your Personal Folders Tools -> Email Accounts-> view or change existing accounts Select Folder for delivery of new mail

Were is your mail? Right click and select properties Here is how to find your folders as files on the disk
