Research Project The following assignments are due in a timely manner. DO NOT hand in all work due the last day of the marking period. RESEARCH PROJECT: You are required to do a research project and will be graded at the end of the semester. The research project is a project that requires you to search for a certain time period in history.
5
Research Project Cont’d Once you find your time period, you must explain the different types of construction techniques they used. You will be required to do a 5 minute presentation explaining the construction method, materials they used, and processes they used to create it.
6
In Class Semester Projects Processes you will learn: Constructing a footing using concrete Constructing a wall to put on footing Attaching drywall and finishing drywall Installing electrical products Installing plumbing products Roofing, siding, door/window installation

These notes will be used for you to study from for written tests as well as demonstrative tests. You will not be given another copy of the handouts so don’t lose them.
8
Tests, Quizzes, and Exams THERE IS A FINAL EXAM IN THIS CLASS!!! A Final Exam will be based on my lectures, handouts, and demonstrations from the entire semester. A Test will be given after each section to ensure students understand and are knowledgeable of the unit covered. A Test will be given after each unit is discussed on every day 5. The Final is based only on the unit tests.
9
Homework You will be given homework periodically which must be done in a timely manner and a legible manner. Homework may consist of proper material selection, workbook work, textbook work, research of materials or/and processes.
10
Safety Information Safety Glasses or Goggles must be worn at all times while in the Construction Lab. Ear Plugs are optional but available. Students are encouraged to assist each other to reduce the chance of injury. There is no misuse or abuse of tools and machinery in the lab. You will lose tool privileges if it happens
11
Clean-up Jobs Each student is assigned a clean-up job in the lab. There will be one student to a specific job and the jobs will rotate unless students do a poor job then jobs will stay until done to my satisfaction. If a student happens to be out one day then the other students will have to work twice as hard to complete the task. If a job is not completed in the 5 minutes the students are given to clean, the entire class will have to clean the next class period they meet.
12
School Rules All classes missed must be made up in a timely manner or the students grade will be jeopardized. If a student is absent and I assign homework,a test, or project is due that day, the student will have 1 day extra to complete the homework, to take the test, or test the project as long as the absence is excused. If the absence is unexcused, the student is required to complete the homework or take the test the same day as everyone else. It is not my responsibility to remind students to make up homework or tests after they have been out; they should approach the teacher to ask if there is anything due
13
School Rules School rules are to be adhered to and disruptive behavior, physically or verbally will not be tolerated. THE LAB IS NO PLACE FOR FOOLING AROUND. If I feel the student is a safety concern in my lab or class, that student will be removed from the activities and possibly from the class.
