3 Present perfect Formation: Simple: Person + has/have + 3rd form (past participle) She has learnt … Progressive: Person + has/have + been + Verb-ing She has been learning …

4 Present perfect Key words: already, yet, ever, never,just, how long, so far; for, since

5 Present perfect Simple form Indefinite time in the past; focus on experience  He has been to London  I have never smoked a cigar. Focus on result  She has done her homemework  They have lost their keys.

6 Present perfect Progressive (continuous) form Action began in the past, is still going on or has just finished  It has been raining  Have you been swimming? Focus on activity  She has been jogging. (That is why she is out of breath)  They have been working hard. (so now they are tired)

7 Present perfect Simple  She has repaired the car. (It is okay again)  She has written ten letters.(You can post them)  He has kissed her. (She feels happy) Progressive  She has been repairing the car. (and not sleeping!)  Ann has been writing letters all day.(Her fingers hurt)  He has been kissing her. (instead of playing cards)

8 Present perfect For + span of time  She has lived here for 5 years.  We have been dancing for 3 hours.  I have not seen her for ages. Since + time, date, year  I have loved her since I met her for the first time.  We have been dancing since midnight.  I have not seen her since 4th of July.

12 Present perfect Donald has caught many fish. They have been fishing since 4 in the morning but they have not caught anything yet.

14 Present perfect Goofy has been painting. Whow! He has painted the chest green.

15 Present perfect Good boy, you have eaten up everything, there is nothing left. Delicious, they have been eating for 20 minutes.

16 Present perfect Homer has finished another beer. It has been raining for ages.

18 Present perfect Clumsy Donald has broken the eggs. Grandma has been cooking all afternoon. She has made a delicious fried turkey.

19 Present perfect The teachers of 7c have been discussing the achievements of their students. The diva has been singing. Most guests have already left.

20 Present perfect Donald has been working hard. He has dug a big hole. Mdme. Mimm has been washing. She has washed her underwear.

21 Present perfect Santa has been drinking. He has finished a whole bottle of whiskey. So his sister has brought the presents instead!. Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year!
