10. His Most Famous Speeches Shakespeare was famous for his ability to write MONOLOGUES and SOLILOQUIES. MONOLOGUE: A speech given by one character to another character, long and without interruption, but with the other character’s awareness. SOLILOQUIY: Speech given by a character who thinks he/she is alone, and is voicing his/her thoughts and feelings.

11. Relevance to Today Shakespeare’s language is dated, but his ideas, characters, plots, and other intricacies remain MODERN.
