3 William SHAKESPEARE’s William Shakespeare was born in April 23rd, 1564 in Stratford- upon-Avon, he was English. He met Anne Hathaway, he was 18 and she was 26 years old. And he married her. William Shakespeare was a writer and an actor, he wrote many famous tragedies : Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet and King lear, and he wrote plays and poems. The plays he wrote are : Comedies, tragedies, history, late romances. He lived in Queen Elizabeth 1st ‘ s time. The original Globe Theatre was built in 1599. The Globe was burnt on 1613 and rebuilt in 1997. He died at his home in Stratford on April 23 1616. He died at his home in Stratford on April 23 1616. Most theatres were built out of the city because it was disreputable. It was composed of the galleries, the stage and the central pit. Poor people weren’t allowed to wear bright colours but wealty people were allowed to wear bright colours.
