Introduction William Shakespeare was an English poet and playwright. Regarded as the greatest writer in English language. He is often called England's national poet and the "Bard of Avon". His plays have been performed more than any other playwright.

Shakespeare was born and raised in Stratford- upon-Avon. At the age of 18, he married 26-year-old Anne Hathaway, with whom he had three children. In 1585 he began a successful career as an actor and writer. Shakespeare’s birthplace

William Shakespeare’s famous works Macbeth is a play about a regicide and its aftermath. It is Shakespeare's shortest tragedy and is believed to have been written sometime between 1603 and 1607. Macbeth

William Shakespeare’s famous works Hamlet is a tragedy believed to have been written between 1599 and 1601. The play tells the story of how Prince Hamlet exacts revenge on his uncle for murdering his father, the king before he could succeed in marrying his mother, the queen. Hamlet

Conclusion Shakespeare contributed his artistic craftsmanship of playwriting into the theatrical presentations during the Victorian era; which is still remembered and cherished by the literary society today.
