Some ways we are teaching this is a Menu approach 1 Hour (lesson) each week for 8 weeks 2 classes (4 hours each) Full day class to involve older members with busy lives Jackpot shooting matches once a quarter District shooting match Hunters Ed classes offered threw fish and game Opportunities to partner with other hunting and shooting programs.

Young Guns 4-H Club Commitments Attend 90% of the class’s appropriate for each badge. rifle – 8 classes pistol- 8 classes archery- 8 classes shot gun – 8 classes black powder – tba When one class is missed the 4-h member will write an essay on a subject given by the instructor. When two classes are missed you can not apply for a badge. Public presentation in a contest form or given during a public event. Education display presented in a contest or in a public event. At least one community service project. Hunter education class completed.

Young Guns commitments continued To receive a badge you must complete 90% of the classes in the badge you are applying for, make one public presentation, make and display one educational display, be part of one community service project, and complete hunter education class all in the same 4-H year. When applying for more than one in the same 4-H year you may apply your public presentation, and educational display. Hunter education class is only required once. Club Young Guns Adult leaders: are leaders, that is 4-H leaders in good standing and has completed at least one 4-H shooting sports discipline training Members: are 4-H members in good standing. Participant in our safety classes.Invited 4-H members from other shooting sports groups. Parent volunteers: are those parents that are helping with the club and club activates. NOTE: in good standing means to be singed up with the 4-H office and have all paper work in. With regular attendance of club activates. Club members will do the following to receive a patch for each discipline.

Club Young Guns continued Attend 90% of all classes If one class is missed, will write a paragraph of leader’s choice If more than on class is missed, member will not receive patch Do presentation at an approved event (on shooting sports or related subject) Do one community service project Do record book General with project or short form with shooting journal Member will take the Hunter Ed class offered by Fish and Game.
