Identify mentors early on Ask people that know you well › Doesn’t have to be the most accomplished doctor, CEO, etc. Give at least 1 month of notice Ideas › Professor (or TA), research mentor, dean, boss, faculty advisor, volunteer leader, etc. › People related to core science classes and medical work should be included

Sign up with your college’s health careers committee › They’ll walk you through the process and provide a committee letter, which you’ll need Get letters of recommendation › At least 3 Take MCAT › Anytime the year before you want to matriculate Fill out AMCAS application › Submit between June and October the year before you want to matriculate › One application, all schools Fill out secondary applications
