Multiple namespaces In order to support multiple views of products it is proposed that FpML 5.0 use a small number of distinct namespaces AWG voted 9 For (UBS, JPM (2), IONA, Miley Watts, GEM, ISDA, Enterprise Eng, HandCoded) 0 Against More specifics BPWG is defining the namespaces Prototype has been created Will implement in 5.0
3
Generated Schemas After trying many techniques for representing views within XML schema the best option we have found so far is to use code generation scripts applied to a master schema containing annotations which override the model allowing types, cardinality, etc. to be changed within each view. AWG voted 6 For (UBS, IONA, GEM, Miley Watts, ISDA, HandCoded) 3 Against (JPM (2), Enterprise Eng) More specifics Prototype has been created Will implement in 5.0
4
Message Root Elements It has been proposed that the use of type substitution on the FpML root element be discontinued in favour of having a distinct root element per message type. 7 For (JPM (2), BGI, Miley Watts, HSBC, Hat trick Soft, ISDA) 3 (4 after deadline) Against (GEM, IONA, HandCoded, DTCC) More specifics Separate presentation on this Will implement in 5.0

Annotations eCore annotations have been added to the FpML Schema. This helps with mapping between XML schema and UML. The changes to support eCore are quite small however there is a design issue with some of the reference types which should be defined very precisely. AWG voted 9 For 0 Against More specifics Specification has section on annotations 4.3 Schema contains annotations Already implemented in 4.3, but not fully
6
Core data types Set of core data types AWG didnt vote There was consensus on the group More specifics Separate presentation on this topic Prototype available Will implement in 4.4 and 5.0
