[5] INSTITUTE OF ADVANCED COMPUTER AND RESEARCH TECHNICAL SEMINAR -2009 PRESENTED BY- GPS System Space Segment – Group of 24 GPS satellites, orbit at 20,200 kilometers above the Earth. Control Segment – The satellites are continuously monitored by ground stations located at Hawaii and Kwajalein in the Pacific Ocean. User Segment – The satellites transmit signals that can be detected by anyone with a GPS receiver. Using the receiver, you can determine your location with great precision. [7] INSTITUTE OF ADVANCED COMPUTER AND RESEARCH TECHNICAL SEMINAR -2009 PRESENTED BY- THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF TRACKING SYSTEM- 1.PASSIVE TRACKING 2. REAL TRACKING SYSTEM Real Time Tracking Systems are based on mobile stand-alone terminals which combine GPS and GSM technology to determinate and transmit their position. A two-way wireless communication link connects the unit with the control center at all times. The Passive Tracking System modality refers to stand-alone GPS Receivers, which stores data for further process. TRACKING SYSTEMS NIWEDITA BURNWAL & RUMA KUMARI
