The first week of school Children start Monday 8 th September 2014 at 9am 8 th September to 12 th September : 8:40am – 8:50am (soft start) until 12pm (no lunch)

The second week of school 15 th to 19 th September 2014 : half day plus lunch at school Drop off 8:40-8:50am for soft start Lunch may be packed lunch or school meal Collect 1:30pm The lunch experience : Monday 15 th September 2014 Free school meals for all (more later)

From the third week of school September 22 nd onwards : attend for full days Drop off for soft start : 8:40-8:50am Lunch at school School day ends 3:05pm – 3:10pm In certain cases alternative arrangements may be made upon agreement between school and parent/carer

Soft Start and Soft Finish Parents drop children to their classroom via rear playground Children arrive between 8:40am and 8:50am Registration 8:50am prompt Teacher/TA available in the classroom for quick message i.e. collection arrangements etc. Longer discussions with teacher should happen at the end of the day. Teachers can make calls home if requested Children collected from same door between 3:05pm and 3:10pm

Routines Arrive 8:40-8:50. Registration 8:50am prompt Mid-morning snack (fruit or vegetables provided by school) during break at 10:20-10:40 Lunch 11:50am – 1:10pm Children may bring named plastic water bottles to school with non-spill top

Routines Teacher must know who is picking the children up Any change in person collecting should be notified to class teacher or to the school office Late pick-up from school office from 3:20pm

Reception Curriculum Curriculum Statements on school website Teach Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum (2012) There are 7 areas of learning. Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Communication and Language, Physical Development, Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World and Expressive Arts and Design.

Reception Curriculum As well as engaging in adult led focussed teaching tasks (carpet and small group sessions) children will spend time in free ‘play’. This play is nearly always planned for and follows on from an identified teaching point or specific area of learning. So when they come home and say ‘I just played today’ they will actually have been practising new skills and consolidating learning already introduced to them by teaching staff. Free School Meals for KS1 Free school meals for all KS1 children Must still apply if you are eligible for FSM status Pupil Premium funding for the school is awarded according to this status lunch menu available on school website children supervised

Packed Lunches Packed lunches must be healthy Please do NOT include : sticky cake, chocolate bars, sweets, fizzy drinks Lunches should be in a named, sealed container

Medical Treatment Must know about any medical conditions Medical room will hold any required medication : must be prescribed medication, clearly labelled, complete a consent form Medical checks at age five : hearing, sight, height and weight.

First Aid First aid administered in classroom and/or medical room Medical notes to be signed by parent/carer at end of school day

Absence Call the school office on the first day of absence Attendance target of 95% Attendance thresholds at 95%, 90% and 85% Education Welfare Officer Referral Exceptional Leave Punctuality

Behaviour Policy Warnings and Discipline Cards Behaviour breaches : language, physicality, defiance, bullying, conduct etc. Referred to senior leadership team Sanctions : time out, missed play, lunchtime exclusion 7 stage discipline procedure : exclusions at stage 3 and 5
